Mojo Squared

This weeks Mojo challenge is just that...round OR square. I decided to try my hand at both and went with a bit of an OWLish theme as well.
On this card, I added a bit of Crystal Effect to the belly & eyes, and of course BLING!!
and now for something SQUARE...
I used Craft White & White embossing powder on the owl.
Don't you just LOVE the sentiment?!

Love U MUCHO

Another day, another challenge...what can I say, it's motivational! Today, I worked on the Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge and put a little mambo in my step. Melon Mambo, that is!
I used Versa Mark & Black embossing powder on Glossy card stock, then brayered Melon Mambo over the top for the Fleur de Lis portion. Also picked up a little Basic Black with the brayer and rolled it over the dry embossed sheet of Melon Mambo (under the Fleur de Lis).
The sentiment is from Well Scripted and a little scrap of black ribbon worked wonders on the corner...not to mention just a wee bit of BLING, which EVERY card needs, right?!

Not so Pretty in Pink

Another week and another fab Wednesday get together with Anne Marie, yesterday. We both had a hard time with this challenge BUT pulled it off in the end. The light pink kept throwing us both off, which explains the very minimal touches of it on my card. Of course it didn't help that I started working with Regal Rose instead and realized I had the WRONG color just before I started sticking everything together, ooops! hehe...
Not only did we go off of the Split Coast Stampers Wednesday Sketch challenge #295, BUT we ALSO incorporated a color challenge AS WELL as a coffee theme, between the two of us, nothing like a little percolating pressure to pull this puppy off!!
Split Coast sketch

and now for a bit of color...

and finally my creation...
I am in LOVE with this new "Morning Cup" coffee stamp set from SU!, isn't it GREAT?!

Daisy Mojo

Soooooo, I picked up this snazzy paper the other day and just HAD to try it out, it reminds me of some fabric one of my Grandma's used to wear, you know the kind of polyester that had little raised bits in the pattern?
This week's Mojo Monday sketch seem to scream for some LOUD paper, so I got to work...
Mary Fish, a paper crafting guru, whom I blog stalk occasionally (okay ALL the time) was a guest designer for this weeks Mojo Monday sketch...I have NO IDEA where she finds the time to create sooo many fabulous projects and post almost DAILY to her blog...O, to be like Mary Fish (who I secretly think is hiding some card making fairies with magic wands in her craft room) wink, wink!

Pals Paper Arts TWIST

Another challenge...(thanks Anne Marie for all the motivation) but this time anything goes, well sort of...the Pals Paper Arts Design Team challenged us to showcase our style. We have the option to enter two versions of the same card. A simple "day" card and a dressed up "evening" version. Here's what I came up with...
I just LOVE this Totally Tess stamp set from Stampin' Up! she's just so darn cute and you can dress up her outfit to give her all sorts of sassy style, depending on the mood. I paper pieced a pair of striped pants on Tess and then colored the rest of her body to coordinate.
The "day" version is bright and sunny with a pop of yellow and minimal layering. Not to mention, Tess is ready to go demonstrate why she LOVES SU! soooo much, with her cute little bag of supplies.
The "evening" version has a few dark accents and more layering with card stock. I also jazzed up her bag with a bit of Versa Mark & Dazzling Diamonds and added a piece of chunky glitter to each button. So Tess is all ready to go out for drinks with her stampin' gals!

Halloween Dual

It's a LiiiiiiiTTLE bit early for Christmas cards but I can TOTALLY get away with creating something orange and black at the moment...Anne Marie, Holly & I got together today and the challenge was to make a Halloween card with the following sketch.

I pulled out my Sock Monkey stamp set and Accessories and got to cutting and cutting AND cutting...hehe
I used the paper piecing technique AGAIN...just give me some designer paper, stamps and a pair of Craft & Rubber Scissors and I'm a HAPPY CAMPER!! I was a bit stumped when it came to putting the 4 circles on the card and then a light bulb went on and I grabbed a sponge dauber and cut out the back of another monkey to lay on top of my already adhered masterpiece, ahem..and look, four perfect Pumpkin Pie circles! My card was all put together but I couldn't find the right "look" for a saying when, cha ching, yup, ANOTHER light bulb flashed and I got this KILLER idea to make a little pumpkin card for the monkey to hold that opens and says "Happy Halloween" inside.

Blue Baby Thanks

I ran out of the last bunch of baby boy Thank you cards I had made for Asher, so started on a different design the other day using mainly RETIRED SU! product. The bear is NON SU! and of course I decided to cut EVERY single one out by hand...

Artistic Dual

My friend and fellow stamper, Anne Marie, came over for a long overdue "creative day" and we challenged each other to make a card with the new Artistic Etchings stamp set.

I whipped out my new handy dandy Color Coach and flipped to the Getting Started Combination of Basic Black, Daffodil Delight & Old Olive. The effect on the Old Olive was accomplished by using a dry embossing folder with my Big Shot and then Versa Marking the entire image before heat embossing with Clear embossing powder. It reminds me of those pressed tin ceilings or back splashes.

The Eiffel Tower is embossed with Black embossing powder and I added a bit of BLING to the crown with Gold Fine Galaxy Stampin' Glitter. Also snagged some of Anne Marie's, Raven Lace Trim & background stamp to complete the card.
Here's Anne Marie's shabby chic card as well, a totally different look, which I LOVE!!
Thanks Anne Marie for another FUN day of gabbing, snackin' & creating! Can't wait till our next one..

Baby Congrats

Seems like it's baby season again...another beautiful baby boy was born to some friends on the East Coast. Here's a quick card to coordinate with the gift. Of course I'm a MAJOR fan of cutting things out, so if you're not, just stamp directly onto the paper and color in with your choice of media..

Back in business

I feel like I've been away from Stamping FOREVER...having a baby and making wedding invitations will do that to you, however. Here's a challenge card that's over 2 months old. I FINALLY had the time to sit down and whip it up the other day. The challenge was to make a "green" card with something "found" outside. My "something found" happens to be the little metal circle. There are a bunch of new homes going up in our neighborhood and I picked up a few of these shiny metal circles on the ground near the homes. I stamped in CRAFT chocolate chip and then embossed with clear embossing powder. In order to get the chunky glitter to stick, I wrapped each metal circle with "sticky tape" and then rolled it in the glitter, voila, BLING!! Also, my first time using smooch spritz, FUN FUN! Just make sure you have a small shoe box to spray in or you'll have smooched your entire desk...Also inked up my NEW Artistic Etchings stamp set for the first time.
