A Rainbow of Celebration

Do You Stack Up is have a beautiful rainbow color/inspirational photo as their last challenge of 2011 and with all of our Christmas decor now packed away in the basement, I thought it was time to let the sun shine in!! Always feels so good when everything is bare and clean again..

I colored the 'Celebrate' sentiment in a rainbow spectrum of colors and tied up the edge with some sassy red/white striped bakers twine. A stack of packages stamped on the envelope and colored with a few of the coordinating colors adds a fun surprise for the Birthday patron to open something fun amidst the drab daily lull of bills and magazines...

Birthday Chomper

This week over at DYSU they are hosting a color challenge where we can showcase TEAL on our projects. I paired a few blues together with a bit of crumb cake, tossed in this week's Card Patterns Sketch #139

and came up with a chomping-ly sweet Birthday card fit for a boy (or little boy blue, in this case).

Bday Scrap Banner

Sweet Sunday Sketch's just seem to always get my mojo going...that AND I was itchin' to try out my new banner punch!

SSSC139

I started off with a yummy cool palate of Basic Gray, Wisteria Wonder, Pool Party and Very Vanilla and started searching for just the right scraps of paper for my pennant & paper pieced presents. Do You Stack Up is asking crafters to use their scraps this week on projects and I did just that pulling out my ever handy SU! demo paper sampler. My dry embossed piece of Pool Party was just shouting for a little attention, so out came a sponge and my Frost White Shimmer Paint (photographed in the afternoon sun to REALLY show off the glamour!). A bit of paper piecing and coordinating ink on the little presents to make them pop, some Grey Taffeta Ribbon and an ever so gentle Wisteria Wonder "Happy Birthday" sentiment to finish it off.
