Hand Stamped Sentiments had this fabulous photo to use as inspiration this past week and ever since spotting the eggs in the photo, I knew I wanted to make a card that incorporated eggs somehow. I searched through my stash of paper, retired and non and thought the small 3X3 inch scraps from my retired DSP sampler "Tea Party" would do the trick. I stamped my egg image on white cardstock and again on 3 of the DSP and then cut them out and started paper piecing away (one of my favorite techniques). I then had to figure out something to hold my little eggs and although a basket would've been my first choice, I was quite happy after I managed to take some hemp twine and tie it up to look like a little nest. A piece of Crumb Cake behind the eggs to give the illusion of a bottom to my little nest, some Pretty in Pink ribbon and a simple little Happy Easter greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes. I used different sized dimensionals to adhere my eggs into place.
Punches Used: 1-3/4" XL Circle

This turned out GREAT!! Love the paper piercing (I still think you are crazy!!) and the little nest is adorable!!!
This is such a clever idea. Those eggs are unbelievable. I can't believe you cut and pieced them. Thanks for playing with us this week at Hand Stamped Sentiments.

Using the twine as a nest is just perfect, it looks so effective!
