Hand Stamped Sentiments #115 - Spring

Thought I'd add a bit of MOM to the Spring Challenge over at Hand Stamped Sentiments this week. After seeing the beautiful bloomin' trees in the inspiration photo, I was drawn to purple and since lilacs are one of my all time favorite flowers, I colored my image to represent those blissful smelling buds.

I started off with a Wisteria Wonder base, layered a piece of embossed Rich Razzleberry on top and then finished off my color combo with a Lucky Limeade.

My flower was stamped onto a piece of WaterColorPaper in Black StazOn Ink. I used a few different shades of purple and green WaterColorCrayons and applied those with my Auqa Pen. After it dried, I added the pearls and a bit of Smooch Pearlized Top Coat for a bit of shimmer.

My sentiment actually said "you're my favorite thing" so I just colored the words I wanted to show with my Rich Razzleberry Stampin' Write Marker and then added the word MOM, popping the center 'O' for a bit more depth. Isn't it 'tweet'?! :)

Head on over to Hand Stamped Sentiments to link up your floral 'Spring' themed creation...remember, you're not just limited to cards. Hand Stamped Sentiments #113 - All About Mom

This week it's All About Mom over at Hand Stamped Sentiments and I 'clearly' missed reading the Mama memo, oops! Although I did use the flower from the Messages For Mom Stamp Set, so I was at least on the right track.

I've been wanting to give this cute little purse die a try and put together this little Birthday set. I started out with the colors over at The Paper Players, Not Quite Navy, Pool Party and Certainly Celery.

My flowers were colored with a multitude of markers and then accented with a center pearl. Instead of the handle on the purse, I just tied the seam binding around and tied a bow on top.

Come link up your Mother's Day projects and see what the lovely design team has whipped up this week!

We're also welcoming 4 new Design Team Members this week

WELCOME LADIES!! I'm so very excited to have you on the team!

Hand Stamped Sentiments #106 - Color Blocking

This week over at the Hand Stamped Sentiments Blog, we are showing off the Color Blocking technique. This was my first time ever trying Color Blocking, so after a quick Tim Holtz video on you tube, I felt like I had the gist of the technique down.

I took my own spin on the technique and decided that instead of using an array of colors, I'd stick to just greens on a white background. I decided to try my hand at stitching, so I followed a few of the lines created by the EF and poked holes with my Paper Piercing tool before stitching some Wisteria Wonder Bakers Twine onto my card.

So, although it's not exactly what I had imagined in my head, it was truly stitched together with Love!
(especially the 2nd time around, paper rips VERY easily!)

Hop over to the Hand Stamped Sentiments blog to see what fun Color Blocking creations the rest of the Design Team has created for you this week and we'd love it if you'd play along too!

Blue Mojo

Thought I'd get my Mojo on this afternoon and make some cards!! Since I didn't have to pick up my Kindergartner from school (she flew to AZ today) and both the boys napped at the same time, I had some free Mama time to do just that! Yipee!!
I used this weeks Mojo Monday sketch as inspiration for my card but flipped it sideways to fit my stamp. I pulled out my Big Shot (who am I kidding, not like it's in the closet...it's practically attached to my hip, hehe!) and used the larger scallop circle from my SU! Sizzix Circle, Scallop #2 die. I colored directly on my stamp with Stampin' Write Markers with Pear Pizzazz, Certainly Celery, Not Quite Navy & Bashful Blue. Did a bit of huffing and viola', a pretty little multicolored peacock!

This weeks Color Throwdown colors seemed perfect for my little bird and after pulling out my Color Coach, I decided Marina Mist, Wild Wasabi & Certainly Celery matched their little butterflies the best.

I used two tiny little scraps on top of my little flag ribbon (not quite sure what to call it) then added a tiny Marina Mist bow. A bit of green bling throughout adds a bit of sparkle & ties all the blue/greens together. My sentiment is from Messages for Mom but I think everyone likes to hear how wonderful they are, whether they are a Mom or not!

Punches Used: 2-1/2" Circle, 1-1/4" Square (for the little bite out of my flag)
