BOY

It's been almost a month in our new house and with no boxes in sight, I feel like I can finally start to create again, I've been itching for my creative release all summer long and am glad to say I haven't lost my mojo during the long summer break! I just have to get used to my non existent craft room and remembering where I've stashed all my goodies. I used this week Sweet Sunday Sketch 132 and the day light (since our power was knocked out during hurricane Irene) to create two congratulations preggo cards.

Starting off with Pacific Point, I placed three slices of Baja Breeze 1X5-1/4" each horizontally on my background. The Pear Pizazz inspiration came from the B & Y chipboard from my stash. And living by the ocean has caused boats to water-log my brain, hence the two soft waves with a silhouetted boat riding off into the sunset. My sun was created by snipping each rounded edge (from center to side) from the scallop circle punch. I used Tangerine Tango & Peach Parfait for the sun.

A bit of paper piecing, one of the BEST tension & stress relievers around!! and the striped preggo dress filled up the "O" quite nicely. Now I'm off to pop these in the mail for the beautiful ladies that will be receiving them!!

 This post has been a loooong time coming...I made this sweet little card to coordinate with monogramed socks and a little hat for a friend who recently had her first little bundle of joy, before we left TX but with getting everything ready for the move, etc. it's been sitting on my desktop until now! 

I used the Top Note for my colorful background, Varsity Alphabet and the baby giraffe from the RETIRED It's the Thought hostess stamp set, to fill in for the letter "I".

Next Stop Newport...

This will be the last creative post till August, all my ink pads, papers and stamps have been packed away and won't see the light of day till August 1st! Have a wonderful summer, I can still be reached here on the blog and through email. I'm going to miss this TX heat and all the wonderful friends I've made, especially through the love of crafting!! 

Saying Goodbye

I've got that song stuck in my head, you know the one..."it's so hard to say goodbye, to yessssssterrrrdayyyyyy" and although we'll be packing it up and leaving our home in a week, this month SU! is also saying goodbye to several stamp sets and accessories that are retiring the end of June. Blocks for MOPS

Getting ready to pack up the house and move in 2 weeks has put a bit of a damper on my creative productivity. But I did manage to whip up the rest of the leftover blocks from one of our MOPS (Mothers Of PreSchoolers) monthly crafts in time for the final meeting, the beginning of this month, which were sold for a little extra money for MOPS. My friend Kelli H. had already cut, sanded and painted all the blocks black, so I just had to mod podge a piece of designer paper onto one side of the block and then I let them dry before hot glueing a bit of fluff ribbon to the top and a clip to place a photo onto the fronts. It took me a couple of nap times to finish them but they did get done in the end, whew! 

Little Boy Blue

Having issues with blogger as 3 of my posts are no where to be found that I put up yesterday...blah...I'll try to recap as best I can

 I made this for my friend Holly's little baby boy awhile back and am just now getting round to posting, it's been a little bit on the busy side here so crafting has been put on the back burner, much to my dismay. Peyton's room is decorated in classic Mickey, so I googled the bedding online to use as color inspiration.

Using scraps from my framed piece, I then stamped directly onto the twill tape with Stazon ink, using a phrase from the Picture This Hostess set.

Life is Good

The Paper Players are looking for clean and simple creations this week, with their sketch, so I pulled up a seat (hehe) and started stamping this card! I'm loving how you can line up more than one stamp on the SU! clear acrylic blocks at a time. Since my chairs, from Have a Seat stamp set, were spaced apart a bit, I just inked up two in Basic Black and the third in Cherry Cobbler, a bit of huffing and voila, 3 chairs in a row, in the center of my VERY WHITE card space. Sentiment is a non SU! item but thought it fit the card perfectly. Simply stated for a simple card! The Just Add Ink gals are also going clean, with just stamps and cardstock.

Polish Pottery

This weeks Card Patterns Sketch paired with Jay Gees Nook inspiration photo was the PERFECT combo to whip out a new set of stamps I've been wanted to ink up. I had fun coloring my little pot of coffee to resemble one you'd find in a Polish Pottery shop.

I pulled the golden hues out of the photo with my Brushed Gold paper from SU! and some retired gold cord. With Baja Breeze as my base color, I layered the gold and then a strip of Daffodil Delight with Bashful Blue on top of that. To mimic the blue striped on the card in the photo, I cut 1/4" strips of Bashful Blue & Baja Breeze and layered them one right after the other to create the fun backdrop for my coffee pot....which was stamped in Versa Mark & heat embossed with Gold Embossing Powder. A small Marina Mist bow and of course a golden sentiment to finish my card with a bit of yellow bling. I also edged my card and center blue striped square with a bit of white.

I made a dozen of these to use as my 6 year olds birthday thank yous, cute, no?! The colors were taken from this weeks Just Add Ink color challenge and my design was pulled from the sketch below taken from the Dutch Dare Card Challenges blog.

I stamped my little tree in Crumb Cake and then again in Old Olive (I tried using my Stampin' Write Markers directly on this stamp but it wasn't giving me the bold coloring I wanted) cutting out just the leaves and adhering them over top of my brown leaves to make them green. I love how they are now subtly popped up off the white, giving them a bit of dimension but not too much. I edged my Crumb Cake with the Cutter Kit tool. Corner rounding just one edge of my card and one of the pieces of Rich Razzleberry. My four Rich Razzleberry pieces were stamped with Craft White and heat embossed in White as well. The Thanks sentiment is from this years Sale A Bration So Happy For You, which is still available till the end of this month. I stamped my little deer directly onto Crumb Cake in Crumb Cake ink and then cut my little fellow out before attaching him to my card. Two simple brown buttons on the corners and viola, a cute little card.
